Rhodri Phillip

Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine

Dr Rhodri Phillip is a consultant in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Medicine, specialising in trauma rehabilitation. He worked at DMRC Headley Court and Stanford Hall in the complex trauma team and delivered care to patients with a range of issues from multiple fractures to amputations, spinal cord and peripheral nerve injuries, and CRPS. He was the clinical lead for the service and prior to leaving in early 2021 had been the Clinical Director of the whole unit for three years. He had extensive experience in MSK, chronic pain and post-COVID/viral conditions. He helped introduce osseointegration to military amputees and has worked on providing novel braces and devices to maximise patient function. In 2018 Dr Phillip was awarded an OBE for services to military rehabilitation. Dr Phillip has also previously worked with elite Army and Combined Services sports teams, was part of Team GB’s medical team at the Athens Paralympics and assisted many of his military patients in achieving their sporting ambitions. His main focus is on coordinated and goal-focussed, team delivered rehabilitation in order to maximise everyone's chances of a return to an active and fulfilling life following injury.
