Our Multi-Disciplinary Team Includes

Rehabilitation Medicine

A consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine is a specialist in the assessment and management of individuals suffering from injury or illness. The consultant's role is to identify the full range of a person's rehabilitation needs and to plan and coordinate the delivery of a diverse team of clinicians to achieve an optimum outcome. A commonly used analogy is the role of a musical conductor in bringing together the diverse sounds of individual instruments to produce a beautiful piece of classical music.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists are concerned with promoting health and well being through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists assess physical function and performance in every day, occupational and leisure time tasks and help to restore movement and function to as near normal as possible following an injury.

Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors (ERI)

ERI's deliver exercise-based rehabilitation and lead either groups or individuals in their rehabilitation. ERI's design and teach Individual Exercise Programmes that include all elements of exercise rehabilitation, including strength, stretching, endurance, stability, postural, cardio-respiratory and functional movements. ERI’s are central to the military model of rehabilitation.

Clinical Psychology

Psychologists are able to assess and manage an individual’s mental health, helping them to recover from the psychological impact of a serious injury. Psychological issues can often become significant barriers to progress in rehabilitation - as such, every rehabilitation programme will have at least some psychology input.

Health & Wellbeing

Mindfulness and relaxation are valuable techniques that help individuals through their rehabilitation and provide useful strategies for improving their overall quality of life.

Adaptive Yoga and Pilates

Recovery and relaxation are integral components of any rehabilitation programme. Remedy programmes include Yoga and Pilates (from beginner to advanced level to suit the client's previous experience and ability) to complement the exercise-based activities and psychology input.
